Stabenow Statement on President Obama's Speech Regarding Job Creation

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, made the following statement regarding President Obama's speech today, where he laid out his proposals to turn the economy around and create jobs.

"I am pleased to hear the President's announcement today in support for the development of clean energy manufacturing, rebuilding our roadways and getting more capital to small businesses right away. These are all critical to Michigan's economic recovery. I sponsored a manufacturing tax credit in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to foster investments in advanced energy technology here at home. Also, I have cosponsored the Bank on Our Communities Act that would restore capital to community banks to serve the business needs of their local customers. I will continue to work with the Administration on these initiatives and others to put people back to work in Michigan ."
