Filing Period Closed:U.S. Congressman Mike Ross Unopposed

"Today I learned that no one has filed with the Arkansas Secretary of State's office to challenge me in my re-election bid to serve the people of Arkansas's Fourth Congressional District. I am grateful, and believe this is evidence that I am doing a good job fighting, hands-on, for the issues important to children, working families, and seniors of my district," said Mike Ross.

"My passion for the issues that inspired me to run for Congress the first time has never been greater. Today, we have nearly 9 million people out of work and 44 million without access to affordable health insurance and health care. Our seniors still don't have a meaningful Medicare prescription drug benefit and nothing has been done to bring down the high cost of medicine. The minimum wage has still not been increased and we are not doing nearly all we can to ensure our children receive the very best education possible. And our country is on track to run a record $521 billion budget deficit this year.

"Though our nation is faced with numerous challenges, I am optimistic about our nation's future. I am looking forward to returning to Washington for a third term, to continue to work hard toward achieving common-sense solutions that address the issues and values important to rural Arkansans."
