John Garamendi Victorious in 10th Congressional District Primary Election

Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi tonight won the special primary election, becoming the Democratic nominee for the November 3rd runoff election.

Garamendi held nearly a nine point lead with almost all precincts reporting late Tuesday night.

“Tonight, I am honored to have received the support of the voters of the 10th Congressional District,” Garamendi said. “In Congress, I will work with President Obama to move America forward. Our country is in a recession, powerful interests are trying to derail comprehensive health care reform, and foreclosures continue to plague thousands of families in the 10th Congressional District. I promise to stand with the residents of the 10th Congressional District in the fight to make life better for all of us. I am prepared to lead from the first day to create jobs and face the challenges ahead.”
