Lamborn Votes to Support Israel

Congressman Doug Lamborn issued the following statement regarding his vote for H.R. 3081 the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2010, to provide the State of Israel $2.22 billion in foreign assistance.
"Israel is a longtime ally and beacon of democracy in the Middle East and I remain a strong supporter. It is essential that the United States continues to meet its commitment to Israel by providing this assistance. I believe the State of Israel has a sovereign right to protect itself from the threats of rogue nations and providing this assistance will help bolster the defenses of liberty in one of the few areas of freedom in a hostile region. While I am troubled about the huge increases in the foreign operations appropriations bill from last year that are going to recipients other than Israel, this bill provides the main, if not only, tangible source of American assistance to Israel."--Congressman Doug Lamborn.
