Clyburn Shares Congratulations and Thanks With Reps. Dingell and Waxman

House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn today thanked U.S. Rep. John Dingell for his distinguished leadership on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and congratulated U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman on his election to the Chairmanship of the House Energy and Commerce Committee for the 111th Congress. Following are Clyburn's remarks.

"I extend my gratitude to Congressman John Dingell for his more than five decades of distinguished service to this country in the House of Representatives and his leadership on the Energy and Commerce Committee. He authored numerous groundbreaking laws to protect the environment, improve access to quality health care for seniors and children and safeguard the rights of workers and consumers. We will continue to rely on John Dingell's experience, wisdom and legislative acumen as we work to create jobs, provide health care for all Americans, and most importantly get our nation's economy back on track.

"I would also like to extend my congratulations to Congressman Henry Waxman for his election to the Chairmanship of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
