Issue Position: Intellectual Property
I support efforts to ensure the protection of continuing innovations through intellectual property and patent laws.
I believe that photographers, musicians, inventors and entrepreneurs have an inherent right to receive full credit for their contributions. This is an issue I find to be a fundamental cornerstone of our free market.
Recently, issues involving the use of new digital technology and the subsequent dilemma of protecting intellectual content have become a hot issue for our consideration. This presents a new challenge to the defense of intellectual property. However, I will continue to examine closely the issue in order to balance the rights of consumers and the need for copyright protection.
