Press Release

Date: Sept. 26, 2008
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Chris Cannon (R-UT) today introduced legislation designed to award a prize of $10,000,000 to the first person or group that develops a cure for clear cell sarcoma of the tendons and aponeuroses.

Upon introducing the legislation, Congressman Cannon said,

"This bill is important to me not only as a Congressman, but as a father. Unfortunately, hundreds of young women die each year worldwide because of clear cell sarcoma and related cancers. I have been personally affected by this disease as have many other American families and I understand their frustrations and pain. I hope that this legislation will spur innovation that leads to the eradication of this and similar diseases. As a Congressman, I have had the honor to do a number of things, but today I am humbled by the privilege to introduce this legislation."
