Education is the cornerstone to building America's future. Congressman Joe Crowley has made a commitment to education to strengthen New York's schools, from making the Federal government invest to fully fund Head Start so that every low-income child has the opportunity to start school on the right foot, to fully funding special education and modernizing classrooms in the Bronx and Queens.

In Washington, Congressman Joe Crowley has secured millions of dollars in federal money to reduce class sizes in Queens in the Bronx, and has funded after school programs at the Castle Hill Boys and Girls Club and at the Long Island City YMCA.

Congressman Joe Crowley has voted for tough education reform, which institutes benchmark testing for public school students and allows parents the opportunity to move their children from under performing local schools.

Congressman Joe Crowley believes that every child in American has the right to higher education. He has supported the GEAR-UP program to get high school students ready for college, expanded the Pell Grant program to help students pay for college, and has secured millions of dollars in federal funding for New York City Community Colleges to give thousands of New York City young adults the opportunity to a higher education.
