SPACE PRAISES STRICKLAND'S GI PROMISE ANNOUNCEMENT

- Program Will Allow Any Service Member Ohio In-State Tuition Under the GI Bill -

Hailing what he calls an "historic decision," Congressman Zack Space (OH-18) today praised Governor Ted Strickland's "Ohio's GI Promise" program that will grant in-state tuition rates to any service member who decides to attend college in Ohio.

"It is never enough to prepare our heroes for battle; we must arm them for civilian life after service," Space said. "What better place to give them that preparation than any of Ohio's excellent colleges and universities?"

"Governor Strickland has taken a bold step in recognizing the enormous benefit that our returning soldiers can be to our state, and I applaud this historic decision. Ohio has much to give to these brave men and women, and in turn, they will bring much to our great state," Space continued.

Congressman Space serves on the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs and supported legislation that expanded the GI Bill, making college affordable for our returning service members. The President recently signed this legislation into law.

Congressman Space has represented Ohio's 18th Congressional District since 2007. He is working to restore integrity to the office, expand Ohio's economy, and support renewable energy.
