TEXT OF THE LETTER

The President The White House

Dear Mr. President:
Today, the State of Texas requested a major disaster declaration for 15 Texas Counties as a result of the severe weather accompanying Hurricane Dolly.

We urge you to expedite the consideration of this request, as the declaration is critical to ensuring that important recovery assistance is made available to the residents of Aransas, Bexar, Brooks, Calhoun, Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, Victoria and Willacy Counties as soon as possible.

We appreciate the efforts underway by the Federal Government to review the State's request in a timely manner, and ask that you give it due consideration. You may be certain that we will work with the Administration to aid the victims of this disaster.

Sincerely,
