CANNON JOINS SEAN HANNITY AND ROY INNIS FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY PUSH FOR INNOVATIVE ENERGY AGENDA

On Monday, January 21st, Congressman Chris Cannon (R-UT) joined radio personality and conservative activist Sean Hannity and Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) national chairman Roy Innis in New York, for the launch of the pro-energy campaign, Energy Keepers Network, and to be honored with an award as the first "Energy Keeper."

The award read, "Congressman Chris Cannon, loyal member of the Energy Keepers vanguard. Keeping The Dream alive and protecting the energy and economic civil rights of American workers and families."

Upon receiving this award, Congressman Cannon said,

"Energy prices that are already too high and are going even higher are in reality the cruelest tax on today's working families. And like other taxes, these are the direct result of decades of government policies that discourage energy development and place us at the mercy of the likes of Iran and Hugo Chavez. Liberals and conservatives alike recognize the imperative that we face in America to achieve energy economy and sustainability, I am honored to be joined by Roy Innis and Sean Hannity in this effort.

Congressman Cannon continued, "Energy freedom will lead to economic, social, and geopolitical freedom, and as my friend Sean Hannity says, Let freedom ring."

Congressman Chris Cannon sits on the Natural Resources Committee and is Chairman of the influential Congressional Western Caucus. A tireless advocate for domestic energy production and oil-shale, Congressman Cannon led the floor fight this year to prevent the federal government from closing off western lands to energy development and raising energy prices on America's families.
