Issue Position: Immigration - Creating Opportunities for All

Each year, an estimated 65,000 students graduate from high school with a strong academic background and sound moral character. However, these students are denied the path to success available to their classmates due to the fact that they were brought to the United States as undocumented children. It was not their decision to immigrate, and they should not be penalized for working hard to create a better future for themselves. To that end, I have co-sponsored the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM Act) which would give hard-working high school graduates with no criminal record the legitimate means to reach their potential.
