The Enquirer-Journal - "Gridlock on Farm Bill Must Be Broken"

I want to see the gridlock end on the stalled Farm Bill and see our area's farmers finally get the relief they so desperately need. I believe it is going to take our farmers, which are the best in the world, to grow America's way out of the energy crisis and reduce the high cost of fuel.

I do recognize the hardships caused on livestock farmers when feed prices skyrocket as a result of alternative energy demands. A national, comprehensive energy program fully supporting ethanol as well as other forms of bio-diesel and renewable alternatives like solar and wind is the only way to help both our livestock and agricultural farmers continue to be the best in the world, and provide a long overdue food and energy defense strategy to keep America secure.

America's farmers have fed the world. And it is my belief that, with expanded research resources and a truly comprehensive National alternative energy program, they, one day, will fuel the world.
