Kratovil Out Raises Democratic Opponents 5:1 in Pre-primary Period

Frank Kratovil keeps his campaigning and fundraising pace as the February 12 primary nears. Kratovil, Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Maryland's First Congressional District, raised $77,273.96 in the pre-primary reporting period between October 1, 2007 and January 23, 2008, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.
Kratovil's campaign has received over $240,000 in contributions since announcing in June 2007. The campaign has $82,271.01 on hand as of the FEC report.

"We have met a lot of supporters on the campaign trail as we pursue our goals for voter outreach and fundraising," Kratovil said. "With this support, we have been able to deliver my message that if we want to end partisan bickering in Congress and achieve progress, we need to change who we send to Washington."

"As a prosecutor, I make decisions based on facts and law and right and wrong, not on partisan politics," Kratovil said. "My record as a prosecutor and advocate for legislation to strengthen public safety are examples of my leadership."

In the four-way Democratic primary race, only one other candidate reported any contributions for the period. Christopher Robinson raised $15,340.52 and closed the period with $21,481.15 on hand and $7,181.43 in outstanding loans according to the FEC report. He has raised $86,582.27 to date according to the FEC report.

Frank Kratovil has been endorsed by Maryland Democratic leadership at the state and local levels, the Maryland/DC AFL-CIO, the National Education Association Fund for Children and Public Education, the Maryland State Teachers Association, and the New Harford Democratic Club, Maryland's largest Democratic club.

Frank Kratovil, 39, is the two-term state's Attorney for Queen Anne's County where he lives with his wife Kimberly and their four sons.
