McCollum Statement on 2008 State of the Union Address

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN) released the following statement today in response to President Bush's State of the Union Address:

"Tonight's speech marks the beginning of the end of the Bush Administration. Once more, in the face of enormous challenges like economic stagnation, global climate change, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and international crises in Pakistan, Gaza and Kenya, the President has failed to lead.

In 2008, Congress will look to the future and exercise its power to protect America's civil liberties, economic prosperity, and standing in the world during the last throes of the Bush Administration."
