Granger Hosted Alternative Energy Expo

This past Saturday, Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-Fort Worth) held an alternative energy expo in Fort Worth highlighting alternative forms of energy and showcasing methods to more efficiently produce and conserve energy.

"Texas has a rich history of energy production," said Granger. "I believe Texas will continue to be a major player in the energy industry and help lead the way to developing more effective and efficient ways of producing energy - as well as developing alternative sources."

On Saturday, North Texans had the opportunity to visit with over 30 vendors representing alternative energy sources including solar, wind, nuclear and electric. On hand with Congresswoman Granger was Kathy Fredriksen, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Policy and International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy.

After the Energy Expo, Congresswoman Granger made the following statement:

"I enjoyed the opportunity to visit with all the vendors representing the future use of energy for our nation.

"The expo was a wonderful chance for individuals interested and concerned about our energy policy to visit with organizations and companies who are leading the charge to move our country down a path of energy independence.

"Energy is an issue that will continue to challenge us as a nation. After today I feel confident we will meet this challenge head on."
