Hensarling Discusses Issues With Thousands Via Tele-Town Hall

On Tuesday night, Congressman Jeb Hensarling (TX-05) hosted a tele-town hall meeting for residents of Dallas County in the 5th Congressional District. In total, over 4,400 residents of Dallas, Mesquite, Rowlett, Seagoville, Sunnyvale, and Garland participated in the call.

Tele-town hall technology gives residents the opportunity to speak directly with Congressman Hensarling and to ask him questions about issues important to them and their families. Those who were not able to speak directly with Hensarling due to time constraints had the ability to leave him a message after the call. The main topic of discussion was illegal immigration, and Congressman Hensarling reiterated his support for secure borders, stricter enforcement of our immigration laws, and his opposition rewarding illegal immigrants with amnesty.

"During the tele-town hall, we discussed timely issues such as illegal immigration, the State Children's Health Insurance Program, and the reauthorization of our federal education programs," Congressman Hensarling said. "I appreciate having the opportunity to discuss these important issues with hard working Texas taxpayers who want Washington to be accountable to them."
