KENNEDY ON RELEASE OF DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION STUDENT LOAN REGULATIONS
Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement in response to the Department of Education's release of its notice of proposed rule-making on student loans.
"Today's announcement is a positive development from the Department of Education. It indicates movement forward on issues Congress has identified as needing attention including provisions from the Student Loan Sunshine Act. This month, in the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, we expect to see strong, bi-partisan support for lender-ethics provisions in the Higher Education Reauthorization Act."
