Reps. Allen, Michaud Announce Residents of Four Additional Counties Now Eligible for FEMA Aid

U.S. Representatives Tom Allen and Mike Michaud announced today that residents of Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox, and Oxford Counties who were affected by the Patriot's Day nor'easter are eligible to receive assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Individuals affected by the severe winds and coastal and inland flooding caused by the mid-April storm can apply for rental assistance, housing repairs, and assistance with other needs. In the coming days, FEMA will open Disaster Recovery Centers in the affected areas.

"We're pleased that more Mainers impacted by the Patriot's Day nor'easter, the worst storm to hit our state since the 1998 ice storm, can now receive federal assistance," said Representatives Allen and Michaud. "This aid will allow more families that suffered damage during the storm to repair property and get back on their feet."

Individuals residing in York and Cumberland Counties have been eligible for FEMA assistance since May 9. In addition, public infrastructure located in thirteen counties—York, Cumberland, Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox, Waldo, Hancock, Androscoggin, Kennebec, Oxford, Franklin, and Somerset Counties—is eligible for FEMA reconstruction assistance.
