CARTER KEEPS POSITION ON APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE

Today, House Conference Secretary John Carter (TX-31) announced that he will once again sit on the prestigious Appropriations Committee. He will be sitting on the Committee's Military Construction Subcommittee as well as the Homeland Security Subcommittee. Congressman Carter served on both of these subcommittees in the 109th Congress, allowing him to secure critical funds for our troops, including priorities for Fort Hood.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to once again serve on the Appropriations Committee so I can continue to protect the interests of the 31st District. My subcommittee assignments are especially important in securing funds for our military priorities at Fort Hood and in implementing our border and homeland security priorities," Congressman Carter said. "I am pleased that my colleagues understand Fort Hood's contribution to our military and the importance of their interests being represented in the appropriations process. I look forward to working in a bi-partisan manner with Chairman Edwards to support and protect the needs of our service men and women"
