Ros-Lehtinen Votes To Reform The Congressional Page Program & Caps A Series Of Votes That Seek To Improve The Lives Of All Our Citizens

Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior Member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, issued this statement after voting for various pieces of domestic legislation that seek to improve the lives of ordinary Americans.

Today, Ros-Lehtinen also cast her vote to reform the Congressional Page Program to now require that a member representing the parents of Pages and a member representing former Pages be included on the Congressional Page Board.

Ros-Lehtinen voted for ethics reform, the minimum wage increase, implementation of remaining 911 legislation recommendations; reduction of interest rates on student loans and to strip oil companies of their federal subsidies and redirect them to alternative energy sources.

"These different pieces of legislation all have one goal: to improve the lives of all of us who reside in this great country. The task of public servants is filled with love for one's community and a willingness to make the lives of the people whom they represent a bit easier. I believe these bills do just that.

I believe that if the Senate approves these bills and delivers them to the President's desk for his signature, we will have done a good service to the constituents who have placed their faith in our ability to work for them."
