Mack: House Passed Tax Cut Extensions to Help Millions of Families, Small Business

Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) today said comprehensive tax relief legislation - including extending the sales tax deduction that directly benefits people who live in states like Florida which do not have state income taxes - passed by the House will help millions of families and small business save and invest.

Mack said:

"I'm pleased the House has passed comprehensive tax cut extensions that will help millions of families and small business save and invest in their futures. In particular, extending the sales tax deduction will help reduce the federal tax burden of the millions of Floridians because our state does not tax income.

"I have said time and again that the people of Southwest Florida and the rest of the nation deserve a government that taxes less, spends less and regulates less. This legislation is an important part of delivering just that."

The Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 (HR. 6711) passed the House this afternoon 367-45.
