D.C. Vote Statement

Government Reform Committee Chairman Tom Davis (R-VA) issued the following statement today in response to a Washington Post story suggesting efforts to pass D.C. voting rights legislation have stalled in the House:

"My goal remains clear: utilize the momentum we've created behind this partisan-neutral approach and pass this bill next week. No one in our Leadership has indicated to me that this is not possible," Davis said. "The stars are aligned. The time is now. Through this weekend and into next week, I will continue doing what I've been doing for years now: urging our Leadership and Members of both parties to do what's right for the citizens of the District of Columbia. Justice should not have to wait."
