Baldwin Backs Doyle Application to Preserve SeniorCare: Calls on HHS to Approve Waiver

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin strongly endorsed WI Governor Jim Doyle's formal application, submitted today to Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Michael Leavitt, to extend SeniorCare past its scheduled July 1, 2007 expiration.

"The people of Wisconsin know that SeniorCare is a cost-effective and well-managed program for providing health care coverage to our senior citizens," said Baldwin. "Governor Doyle has responded to strong public support for extending this valuable program. I urge HHS Secretary Leavitt to heed the advice of the Governor and our entire delegation and extend this program that does so much good for so many in our state," said Congresswoman Baldwin.
