Holds Walking Tour of Doylestown with Small Business Administration

This morning, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick held a walking tour of small businesses in Doylestown with the Small Business Administration's National Ombudsman Nicholas Owens.

The tour brought attention to Doylestown's vibrant small business community and afforded business owners the unique chance to meet and discuss important issues with the Small Business Administration's trouble shooter, National Ombudsman Nicholas Owens.

"I have always said that small business is the engine that drives our economy," Fitzpatrick said. "Doylestown is renowned for its locally owned shops and businesses and I am pleased that Mr. Owens came to see first hand how successful Doylestown is in creating a business friendly environment."

Fitzpatrick and Owens toured businesses along Main and State Streets in Doylestown's business center. Included in the tour were; B. Maxwell's restaurant; Chambers Bar & Bistro; Doylestown Marketplace; Coffee and Cream; Lilies of the Field; Doylestown Book Shop; Rutherford Camera; Classic Cigar Parlor; and Bucks County Coffee Company.

The Small Business Administration Ombudsman is tasked with assisting small businesses with unfair and excessive federal regulatory enforcement, such as repetitive audits or investigations, excessive fines, penalties, retaliation or other unfair regulatory enforcement action by a federal agency.

The National Ombudsman receives complaints and comments from small business concerns and acts as a "trouble shooter" between them and federal agencies. Small business comments are forwarded to federal agencies for a high level review.
