Teacher Appreciation Day

In recognition of National Teacher Appreciation Day today, Mayor Martin O'Malley sent the following open letter to the past, present, and future teachers of Maryland.

"Today, as we come together as a state and a nation to celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Day, we recognize the success and excellence of our teachers and students in the classroom," said Martin O'Malley. "And we honor the commitment and interminable spirit of every teacher, past, present and future that has made it their life's calling to educate the children of Maryland."

This afternoon, Martin O'Malley will be speaking to the Anne Arundel County Teachers Association. The event is closed to the press. Below please find the open letter sent by Martin O'Malley
