Gov. Rounds to Hold Education Town Hall Meeting in Wagner

Participates in ribbon cutting ceremony of Early Childhood Addition

PIERRE, S.D. - Gov. Mike Rounds announced that Wagner will be the site of the next education-focused town hall meeting on Monday, August 28 at 7 p.m. (CDT) in the Auxiliary Gymnasium. The governor will also be on hand earlier in the day for the open house of the Wagner Community School Early Childhood Addition. The ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 6:15 p.m.

"We look forward to visiting with local citizens interested in the future of education in Wagner and the Wagner Community School District," said the governor on the announcement.

The intent of the meeting is to invite administrators, teachers, board members and the community to share data and information to ensure that the future education system in the Wagner Community School District prepares students for college, technical school and the workplace.

"Each community we visit is faced with its own unique challenges. This forum provides us an opportunity to learn more about those issues," said Gov. Rounds.

In the fall of 2005, the Wagner Community School District school district had 796 students enrolled.
