Governor Rendell Visits with Brookhaven Democrats

Governor attends event with Congressional Candidate Joe Sestak and State Representative Candidate Bryan Lentz

Brookhaven: Today, Governor Ed Rendell joined Congressional candidate Joe Sestak and State Representative candidate Bryan Lentz at a 4:30 PM meet and greet with Democrats in Brookhaven, PA.

"Joe Sestak and Bryan Lentz are great candidates and are part of one of the strongest Democratic tickets in recent memory," said Governor Rendell. "They will be part of a potential Democratic sweep this fall."

Bryan Lentz is running for State House in the 161st District in Delaware County. Lentz was a U.S. Army Major and a veteran of the Iraq War. He served with peacekeeping missions in the Sinai Peninsula and Bosnia. Lentz also served as a prosecutor for six years.

"We need new people in the state house to move the state forward and to support Governor Rendell in his effort to make government work again for the people of Pennsylvannia," said Lentz.

Joe Sestak is a retired United States Navy Vice Admiral. He is running for the U.S. House of Representatives as a Democrat in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District.

"I am extremely proud to stand here today with Governor Rendell, Senator Williams, Bryan Lentz and so many wonderful Democrats," said Sestak. "With 93 days to go until Election Day, the citizens of this district are eager for change and together we will take back the state House, state Senate, Congress and the country. Washington insiders like Curt Weldon have lost touch with the voters and have become a rubber stamp for this Republican Congress and President Bush, with whom Weldon votes with every four out of five times. We need to elect leaders that will stand up to special interests, and will strengthen our economy, health, education and defense."

Also speaking at the rally was state Senator Connie Williams of Delaware and Montgomery Counties.

"I'm very proud of what we've done, but there is still more to do," closed Governor Rendell. "We need Bryan in Harrisburg and Joe in Washington to help move Pennsylvania forward."
