Tipton, MI- Conservative Congressional Candidate Tim Walberg today praised President Bush's leadership in the War on Terror and denounced the liberals in Washington who have put political partisanship ahead of winning.

"President Bush was right last night when he said that America is going defeat the terrorists in Iraq. The Iraqi's know it, Al Qaeda knows it and our military knows it. The only ones who don't know it are the liberals and defeatists in Washington."

"Everywhere we look we signs of victory. Ten million Iraqis voted this week in the largest free election ever in the Middle East. More than 125 Iraqi battalions are fighting the enemy. Two-thirds of Iraqis are optimistic about the future. We are on the edge of victory and the only way for Al Qaeda to win is if liberals and defeatists force America to retreat."

Walberg also commented on the leak of the National Security Agency's program to monitor emails and phone calls of suspected terrorists.

"It's no coincidence that we have not experienced a terrorist attack on our shores since 911. I applaud the President for his attention to detail in relation to his number one responsibility, our national security. The intentional leaking of this top-secret information in time of war is shameful and approaches an act of treason. Our courageous servicemen and women have been placed in greater danger as a result, and the perpetrator must be brought to justice."
