New blog about Congress and current events available online

As part of his ongoing effort to keep El Pasoans updated about his congressional activities, as well as federal and current events, Congressman Reyes has launched a blog at www.reyesblog.com.

As part of his ongoing effort to keep El Pasoans updated about his congressional activities, as well as federal and current events, Congressman Silvestre Reyes, D-El Paso, has launched a blog, or online journal, at www.reyesblog.com.

Reyes is also launching a new state-of-the-art website, which features his views on issues affecting El Paso and the nation, information on votes he has taken in the House of Representatives, speeches he has given in El Paso and across the country, media releases and photos, as well as contact information.

"Technology offers me a variety of tools for communicating with my constituents, such as my website, Congress on the Border TV show, and e-newsletters," said Reyes. "This blog and my new website are the latest part of that effort, and I hope the community finds them useful and informative," said Reyes.

Reyes' blog features issues that are both local and national in scope. Whether discussing rising gas prices or the current immigration debate, Reyes presents information in an informal, accessible manner. It is his goal to inform and help El Pasoans - to alert the community about his efforts to help make El Paso's four-year medical school a reality or inform them of his legislation to improve American innovation through education entitled the "21st Century National Defense Education Act."

"Through this blog, I hope to provide the El Paso community with information about the government and current events that is useful, helpful, and interesting," said Reyes.
