It's absolutely unbelievable what is taking place at our southern border. As I got here just a few minutes ago this morning, we were watching people come across the river and come across the border. The fact the Biden administration has failed so miserably at protecting our border is shocking. It's the reason you are seeing Republican governors step up around the country to help assist the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas National Guard because the federal government is failing, and governors are having to step up. We have Arkansas troops here on the ground assisting and doing a phenomenal job. We had a couple briefings yesterday from our team and the staggering numbers of what is taking place at the southern border is unbelievable. The difference of what is happening right now from when Donald Trump was president is catastrophic. There is a true humanitarian crisis taking place on the southern border.

What we are seeing take place in the state of Arkansas, just this year alone, they've already seized over 12 pounds of fentanyl -- that is enough to kill almost the entire population of our state. 2.8 million people could be killed just by the fentanyl alone, and that is just from this year coming into Arkansas. The safety and security of the entire country rests on the fact we have ability to secure our border. The federal government has absolutely failed. Just in this section where I am here at Eagle Pass, there have been 200,000 known getaways that have been able to infiltrate the country -- and that's just this year.

The Biden Administration has to step up and do something. But where they are failing, Republican governors are stepping up. GovernorAbbott here in Texas has been leading the way -- and we're happy to help do our part and send some of the National Guard troops here. I had the opportunity to meet with several of the Arkansas troops that have been here over the past several weeks, and they are glad to be here and understand the value of the mission they are on. Several have asked to stay or come back because they see the difference they are making on the ground.
