Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) met with more than 90 middle school students from the Ichabod Crane School in Valatie, NY. The group of upstate students and teachers is visiting Washington D.C. as a part of their 8th grade trip. The Congressman met and spoke with the students about his role in Congress and answered their questions about how he solves problems when there are disagreements, where he works, and his favorite part of representing New York's 19th Congressional District.

"It was great to meet and speak with the group of middle schoolers from the Ichabod Crane School today," said Rep. Delgado. "I'm so glad the group was able to visit Washington D.C. and see the Capitol building. I'm always happy to see young folks engage with the history of our country and show an interest in government and the potential to create change. I hope the students enjoyed their tour!"

"The kids have been working for three years to go on their 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.," said Teacher Lara Marotta. "They are super excited to learn about our country's history through the monuments and museums and are honored that the Congressman has taken the time to meet them, speak about his role in Congress, and emphasize the importance of civic responsibility. It was great that the students could ask the Congressman questions and see that their representative is reachable."
