Rep. Nancy Mace Statement on Vote on House Resolution in Support of the People of Ukraine

Rep. Nancy Mace released the following statement on the passage of H.Res.956 - Supporting the People of Ukraine:

"President Vladimir Putin's invasion of the sovereign territory of Ukraine is a war crime. We demand that Russia agree to an immediate cease-fire and fully withdraw their forces from Ukrainian territory," said Rep. Nancy Mace. "Putin must never again engage in unprovoked aggression against Ukraine. The banking sanctions that the U.S. has so far imposed are a good first step, but we can and must do more to support our allies and partners. Our resolution urges the U.S. to provide additional defensive security assistance to help Ukraine."

"Let's go a step further: impose a full embargo on Russia's oil and natural gas economy, effective immediately. One out of twelve of the oil barrels the U.S. imports are from Russia. I don't want to fill my car with gasoline from Russia. We have the natural resources here in the U.S. to fuel Europe for 150 years."
