Rep. Grijalva Announces $15.7 Million in American Rescue Plan Funding for Tucson International Airport

Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-03) today announced Tucson International Airport authorities will receive $15.7 million in combined federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

"I worked to pass the American Rescue Plan to help our nation recover from the pandemic, including our airports that serve a vital function in our connected society and have been severely impacted by the pandemic," said Rep. Grijalva. "I'm proud to support the economic recovery of our airports and newly implemented safety protocols as we resume service to the millions of local residents and tourists who use Tucson International annually."

"We appreciate the advocacy and support from Congressman Grijalva and our other elected representatives who supported airport funding in the American Rescue Act," said Tucson Airport Authority President and CEO Danette Bewley. "This funding will allow the Tucson International Airport (TUS) to continue operating with excellence in safety, security, and customer service during what is one of the most challenging times for the aviation industry."
