ThisSaturday, December 11at 10:30 AM,U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett will join Foundation Communities, Austin Independent School District, and the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce at their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) FAFSA fair workshop at Eastside Early College High School. With computers available and FAFSA experts on hand, high school seniors and their families are invited to come complete the FAFSA form, which must be filed by January 15. As families and schools attempt to rebuild from the COVID slump in financial aid applications and college enrollment, the free, bilingual assistance for families at this workshop will help Central Texas families access aid and get seniors one step closer to affordable college enrollment. For this academic year, only 68% of students submitted the FAFSA, which is the lowest percentage recorded since Sallie Mae began its reporting in 2008.
