Mullin Strongly Opposes Abortions on Demand Act

Statement

Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) released the following statement after voting against the Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act. This bill dramatically expands Roe v. Wade and would ban any state action to limit abortions while allowing abortion for any reason, at any stage of pregnancy until birth.

"This legislation is absolutely sickening. I will always defend the rights of the unborn and I cannot imagine a bill that puts these rights more at risk than this one," Mullin said. "It goes far beyond Roe and overrides existing pro-life laws at the state and federal levels that protect both babies and mothers. As Americans, we have the moral, ethical, and personal responsibility to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. And as a father of six, I cannot express enough how precious the lives of these innocent children are."
