Congresswoman Ross Statement on Supreme Court Decision to End Federal Eviction Moratorium

Raleigh, NC -- Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement on the Supreme Court's decision to block the Biden administration's extension of the federal eviction moratorium:

"I am deeply disappointed by yesterday's Supreme Court decision. This action will put millions at risk of eviction, homelessness, and housing instability in the midst of a public health crisis. This decision will have widespread ramifications for the health and economic well-being of our people here in Wake County. I thank President Biden for his continued work to accelerate the delivery of vital rental assistance to state and local agencies. It's crucial now more than ever that vulnerable families and children and struggling landlords can access these resources. Despite this setback, I remain committed to working with our state and local partners to keep people in their homes."

In the last year, Congress has allocated billions to states to aid renters and landlords, and these funds have supported over 68,500 households in need across North Carolina. Congresswoman Ross called for the extension of the federal eviction moratorium when it was set to expire in July.
