Committee Clears Bipartisan Sinema Bill Improving Job Training for Arizonans

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema's bipartisan Facilitating Federal Employee Reskilling Act--legislation that helps Arizona federal employees access high-demand job training, improving the skillsets of federal employees and the efficiency of the federal government.

"Empowering Arizona's federal employees to pursue high-demand training ensures a more effective federal government that better serves Arizonans," said Sinema, a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Sinema's bipartisan legislation ensures Arizona federal employees who successfully complete a federal reskilling program can transfer into a new position using that skillset and retain their current employment level. The legislation allows those employees to transfer back to a prior or similar position if unsuccessful in the new role, and guarantees that the training programs are anchored in merit system principles.
