Manzullo Applauds President's Vision of Safe, Prosperous America

Congressman Don Manzullo
Proudly Serving the 16th District of Illinois

JANUARY 31, 2006

(WASHINGTON) Congressman Don Manzullo (R-Egan) tonight issued the following statement in response to President Bush's State of the Union address:

"President Bush tonight offered a sound plan that will continue to keep our citizens safe while providing opportunities for all Americans to thrive and achieve their dreams. I share the President's number one priority to promote peace in the Middle East while keeping our citizens safe from terrorism at home. I also agree with the President's strong domestic plan that avoids tax increases while giving our employers the tools they need to prosper and create more high-paying jobs for Americans.

"As Chairman of the House Small Business Committee, I will work with the President to enact his solid economic agenda. I agree that we must make the tax cuts permanent to continue to grow our economy and protect Americans from huge job-killing tax increases. We must provide options to our small employers so they can provide more affordable health care for their employees. We must also build on our energy plan to encourage more domestic and renewable production that will drive down energy costs for our citizens and our small business owners, the job creators of America."
