Issue Position

Every person needs access to affordable healthcare and medications. I will fight for increasing options and free-market solutions that drive down prices and open doors for every Ohioan to receive the care they need. Private insurance for every Ohioan is the ideal and must be preserved. But Medicaid has been a safety net for many in our state--particularly as we have weathered the opioid epidemic and the pandemic crisis.

I will push for expanded telehealth and for our state to pilot new demonstration projects to improve care, efficiency and technology to cut bureaucratic costs and streamline access to services when people need them most. I will also champion increased focus on getting access to health care for our most vulnerable populations, including our youngest children, whose future trajectory can be significantly impacted by lack of access to health care and other social determinants of health.
