In February, we learned that the state of Minnesota has a $1.5 billion budget surplus. Such a large surplus is proof that the state is taking in more tax revenue than it needs.

That's why we need to pass a significant tax relief package and return this surplus back to hardworking Minnesotans.

It's time to end the unfair tax on Social Security benefits and help keep more of our seniors in Minnesota.
It's time to help families struggling with rising childcare costs with a childcare tax credit.
We need to fix the mistake made in Section 179 expensing and provide tax relief for farmers and main street businesses.
There are many, many more ways we can deliver tax relief for Minnesotans but these ideas are a good place to start as we work to make Minnesota more affordable for everyone.
