Issue Position

Rep. Duba served on an interim study surveying Offenses Regarding Controlled Substances. By working with the Judicial Branch, this group identified large shortages of Court Service Officers (CSO) also known as probation officers, who are critical to an individual's ability to stay 'clean' once they leave prison or jail. The CSO provides services that help the parolee break the cycle of addiction through rehabilitation services. Rep. Duba believes in rehabilitation over incarceration.

If reelected, Rep. Duba will focus on keeping people, who are arrested on minor drug charges, out of prison rather than putting them in. She intends to reallocate funding from incarceration to rehabilitation.
