Issue Position: Equality

Issue Position

» WORKPLACE EQUITY
I am a strong proponent of equal pay, paid sick leave, and expanding paid parental leave to cover all workers in Delaware. One should never have to choose between their children and their job, or their pay and their personal health. If Delaware takes the forefront on this, we could make jobs in our state more attractive and improve our economy.

» PROTECT AND EXPAND THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT
I advocated and fought for the Equal Rights Amendment in Delaware, which bars sex-based discrimination, and I will work tirelessly to protect it. It's important for our state to continue to strengthen measures of equality by voting to expand the ERA to protect people of any race, color, or country of origin through passing SB 191 next session.

» ECONOMIC EQUITY
I hope to promote business equity, and increase growth and grant opportunities as well as create more access to state procurement for small-, women-, minority-, and veteran-owned businesses. I support raising the minimum wage to $15 to stimulate our economy, spur business activity, and increase quality of life for so many workers, but we have to be careful that we don't put their needed benefits like subsidized healthcare at risk in the process.

» LGBTQ+ ADVOCACY
I am honored to have been endorsed by Delaware Stonewall PAC, an organization with the mission to secure for all LGBTQ+ people the equal human rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the laws of Delaware.

» RIGHT TO CHOOSE
One of the key values of this campaign is supporting a woman's right to choose. I am proud to be endorsed by Mary Ann's List, an organization committed to electing pro-choice democratic women. Governments should actively protect our autonomy, while ensuring we have equitable, safe, affordable access to healthcare services and medications. This includes ensuring that women who are economically disadvantaged have access to essential services and care, and that the quality of that care is not dictated by an individual's income or skin color.
