Klobuchar Statement on Confirmation of Major General Jon Jensen of Minnesota as Director of the Army National Guard

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed Major General Jon Jensen of Minnesota to serve as the Director of the Army National Guard. Following his Senate confirmation, Major General Jensen will be responsible for overseeing all programs and policies affecting the Army National Guard across the country.

"Major General Jon Jensen is an excellent choice to lead the Army National Guard. Our nation will benefit from his leadership and decades of experience and commitment to those serving in the National Guard. We are grateful for the Major General's commitment to servicemembers and their families, whom he has supported through numerous deployments, as well as his work to help Minnesotans through several natural disasters. Major General Jensen will continue to be a great leader for our country and our servicemembers."

Major General Jensen has served in the Army National Guard for more than three decades and currently serves as the Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard. In addition to serving as Adjutant General, Major General Jensen has held numerous leadership positions within the Minnesota National Guard, including as Commander of the 34th Infantry Division, Director of the Joint Staff, and Assistant Adjutant General. Earlier this month, Klobuchar gave remarks in support of Jensen's nomination on the Senate Floor.
