The unfortunate reality is that there are many Illinoisans that have to make decisions between food and medicine, this is a humanitarian crisis; Legislation must be passed to prevent price gouging on prescription drugs. Pharmaceuticals like the Epi-Pen and Naloxone have gone up 100s of percentage points in price in a very short amount of time.

Illegal drug use must be looked at more as a public health issue than a criminal justice one. The State must look at community based alternatives to rehab and treatment.
