Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today announced that Taiwan will donate 30,000 surgical masks to the state of West Virginia for the use in combating COVID-19.

"I am grateful to Representative Kao, the team at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office, and President Tsai for their generosity," said Congresswoman Miller. "As an ambassador for our state, I am constantly working to strengthen our relationships throughout the U.S. and around the world, especially our trade partnerships. The Coronavirus is a challenge for all, and no nation stands alone in this crisis. Cooperation and partnership are essential to defeating this virus. Taiwan's friendship is apparent with their generosity, and I am very happy that we can continue to have adequate amounts of personal protective equipment to keep each West Virginian safe."

The masks should begin to arrive next week and will be disbursed to localities by the state.
