SENATOR MARTINEZ STATEMENT REGARDING WITHDRAWAL OF MIERS NOMINATION
"I respect the decision of Harriet Miers to withdraw her nomination for associate justice of the Supreme Court. No doubt she reached it with difficulty and no small measure of personal angst. Among Ms. Miers many other attributes we can now add courage. I look forward to receiving word of the President's next nominee and working with my colleagues in the Senate in our critical role of advice and consent."
