Issue Position: Should parents be allowed to opt their children out of the NH immunization/vaccination registry?

Issue Position

AGAINST: Parents should not be allowed to opt their children out of the NH immunization/vaccination registry.

I believe this registry allows benefits for both the patient and the healthcare provider. The registry can decrease the likelihood for duplicated immunizations, allow for public health providers to monitor immunization statuses in case of outbreaks, and have easily obtainable records for future employers, colleges, and people requiring immunization statuses. I feel by having parents opt their children out leaves children at an increased health risk and is less beneficial to children.
