What I Believe

Without life, not a single one of our rights granted to us by God and guaranteed to us in the Constitution is secure. The founders understood that life is the most important, and its why they listed it first, before liberty or the pursuit of happiness. Without the protection of life and the understanding that human dignity starts in the womb, neither liberty or the pursuit of happiness matters.

I am the current President of South Dakota Right to Life. I believe all life is sacred and have a 100% pro-life voting record. I will continue to fight to protect life from the moment of conception until natural death.

Some of What I Did

For the last three years I've been responsible for oversight of the SD Right to Life Board, including activities to protect unborn babies and other vulnerable people.

Fought to prohibit the sale of fetal body parts from induced abortions (SB24).

Championed a fetal-pain standard for when abortions should be illegal in South Dakota. The legislation protects unborn babies from abortions starting at 20 weeks post-fertilization, when they are capable of feeling pain. The bill recognized that unborn children are human beings who deserve protection from pain (SB 72).

Supported the requirement that women be provided informed consent that in the event she changes her mind after taking abortion-causing drugs it may be possible to reverse the effects of the drug.

Called for the US Supreme Court to protect the intrinsic, natural, fundamental rights of the children of our State and nation; the intrinsic, natural, fundamental rights of their pregnant mothers in their relationship with their children, and the mothers' health by reconsidering and overturning the court's decision in Roe (HCR 1004).
