Issue Position: Taxes, Jobs & Economy

Issue Position

Connecticut has the second highest tax burden in the nation, according to a new data from the Tax Foundation and was just ranked 49th in economic growth. In 2011, Democratic lawmakers approved the largest tax increase in state history. And if that wasn't enough, in 2015 they passed the 2nd largest tax hike in state history. Connecticut cannot tax, borrow, or spend its way to prosperity Taxing our way out of debt will further erode businesses and drive taxpayers away from our state. Keeping businesses growing is the key to a thriving economy. In order for businesses to succeed and prosper, we need to make it easier not harder to do business in CT. As I go door to door meeting with voters, I hear more concern about this issue than perhaps any other. As one who is dedicated to fiscal responsibility we must do all we can to provide relief to taxpayers.
